Awesome Fridge. Well thought out design. The Fridge replaces a similar model but this one seems to be much larger although on paper it's the same size than our old model from a different brand. The shelves slide out effortlessly. The auto sensing water filling feature is fantastic. There is a second cooling drawer that can be used for beverages meats or freezer simply by changing the temperature . Another thoughtful feature are the shelves in the right door. because of it's shape, it fits so much more than our old fridge.

Somewhat disappointed with CAFE

Not exactly what we thought it would be. The backlight is dim and does not appear to be bright enough to see inside. With everything is going computerized, there should be a way to enhance the brightness inside. Temperature in freezer is set to 2 F but when put a thermometer in the freezer it registers 14F. We will be calling for service once we look online for the owners manual that they did not provide. It is very silly GE Cafe does not provide owners manuals for their products except for online viewing and yet I can buy a 50K Lexus and it comes with an owners manual in the car.

Ice maker just quit

We've had this refrigerator for a year and a half and the ice maker just stopped working two weeks ago. We've done every troubleshooting tip we can find. Nothing worked. We really thought that buying a 4k refrigerator would mean we wouldn't have to worry about these random issues that are common with cheaper models. I'm so disappointed

This refrigerator died after 3 years and was deemed irreparable by Bodewell (the same company as GE). It is not worth the appearance. It's sad to experience the quality of GE go downhill. Also important to note that it took over a month to schedule repair so not worth the service plan either.

Great features, pain to remove plastic wrap!

Love the refrigerator, but it has taken more than a week to remove all of the plastic bits. It took a plastic razor blade, rubbing alcohol, removing the handles, and a hair dryer to accomplish this. There needs to be a better way to protect it from scratches.

The refrigerator is beautiful and I love the drawers and the capacity, however the electronics are faulty. The ice maker frequently stops working and I have to turn it off and then on or turn off the fridge and restart it. For this price you should not have to do that!

purchased cafe french door refrigerator, installed March 2023, will not cool, but freezer, chill drawer and ice work. Can't get repaired, no help from GE. The closed Refrigerant system is supposed to have a 5 year Factory warranty, what a joke. After weeks of research, we found THE fridge!

We did research on a new fridge for WEEKS. We went into stores almost every day to look, sometimes checking out the same fridge over and over. We were set on the GE Profile for a while, but I hated the door-within-door, and th freezer just felt cheap to me. Then we saw the Cafe and fell in love! It has the wonderful middle drawer with the glass sliding dividers, an extra third drawer in the freezer (it™€™s surprisingly roomy in there, we practically have an empty shelf right now), and I also moved the copper finish on the shelves and the interior backlighting. I use the water pouring sensor all the time too. It™€™s a beautiful and practical fridge, with lots of great features that met our needs. You know you™€™re an adult when you want to rave about your fridge!

Great capacity in the doors and the depth of the fridge. You have 2 problems. Your veg drawer needs to be taller and your freezer drawer at the top and in the back creates ice crystals on the edge of the seal because your back seal is weak.

This unit is a replacement for same GE Cafe Refrigerator model that was deemed unrepairable. Original was <4 years old. It took SIX WEEKS for replacement; two service techs rendered diagnosis. My geographic area does NOT have a GE Certified technician. Therefore, two weeks elapsed before the first technician responded on-site.

Looks Nice, but have had only problems

The appliances look nice, and they were great for the first few months. I purchased this fridge, the CAFE range, and dishwasher about a year ago for a new home. The fridge doors do not stay shut due to the flap not catching the door hinge, which is very frustrating. It has gotten to the point where our fridge is basically cracked open 24/7. I am able to make sure its shut, but with young kids, they just open and close it and it does not shut properly, ever. The doors also have lost their suction to close. The range has one burner that stopped working after about 6 months. The dishwasher has chucks of some sound proofing material that just fall out on the floor? I chose cafe because I was told they were "excellent" quality. Very disappointed to have so many problems that started right around one year of owning them. If they were working properly I would give a much better rating.

The refrigerator has far more storage than our old side by side, but the sliding drawers in the freezer do not open when the freezer compartment is opened. The ice maker is a toy replica with miniature cubes and capacity. Cafe needs to add an ice maker in the freezer

Have only had for a month

We just moved in to a new house. Refrigerator looks nice and refrigerator capacity is good. Do not care for how the drawers work in the freezer. Also the ice barely comes out of the front of the refrigerator. I can't tell if it is because it comes out in a strip of connected pieces and then takes a while to break them up or what. Also the area where the water comes out scratches easily. I also thought that the refrigerator was finger print resistant.

Great look and working out of the box

Still having trouble getting the temperature zones right as its freezing the vegetables and icecream is soft but hope to work it out. Like autofill for exterior water. Shelving is nice with many options. Not sure I will keep in the pizza tray between freezer and vegetable drawer as it takes away height of freezer space.

We have recently installed this refrigerator. We like the configuration of the shelves and the drawers. It organized the food very nicely. Hope it will work properly for years to come.

Great fridge, poor interior tray finish durability

When we bought our new house in June of 2021, we upgraded our entire kitchen with GE Cafe appliances, including fridge. Really do love it for its capacity, adjustability of the interior shelves, deli drawer and freezer drawers and appearance. Our issue is the metal trim on the bottom right hand door tray popping and peeling off.... not what we expected with a $4200 fridge. At a cost of $47 to replace isn't the issue, it's the fact that we need to in such a short time and when it is only my wife and I who use it. Not to beat up on GE, but we have a similar issue with the finish coming off the knobs of our Cafe gas cooktop also........and those are a whole lot more to replace/

My absolute FAVORITE fridge! It™€™s my wife™€™s baby she loves it even more! It can hold all of our food without a problem so it has plenty of space and we love the autofill feature. We use it all the time! The price was way over what we wanted to spend but I have to admit it™€™s very well worth it! The quality is amazing!

Great refrigerator; horrible customer service

Overall, we like the refrigerator. There were some issues when it was delivered. There is a noticeable cosmetic flaw on the front of the stainless steel refrigerator near the water dispenser. There is a spot that is discolored-factory defect. We have had no luck resolving this issue when reaching out to GE customer service as well as Orville's Appliances. We called numerous times (same day it was delivered) and have been bounced back and forth between GE and Orvilles. Each party saying the other is responsible for addressing the issue.Frustrating to say the least. The humidity panel above the vegetable drawer falls into the drawer. It doesn't fit properly.

Love the configuration of the shelving. The lighting on the inside makes it easy to find what you are looking for. The design of the freezer makes it easier to find items in the freezer.

Lousy web page. Can not register on Canadian website warranty the $12,000 fridge and range I purchased even though it has tab that says registration. Also can not access manual for appliances. Only a sign of service to come in future

Love our new fridge!

We just got our cafe refrigerator and so far we have liked it. There is plenty of room and you can easily adjust the shelves for your needs. The only thing I wish was different is the top shelves in the freezer. I wish I slid out all the way like the drawer does.
