Quiet but takes too long

We recently installed this GE dishwasher, and my overall experience with it has been a mix of positive improvements and a few daily inconveniences. The first thing I noticed during installation was that the insulation layer seemed surprisingly thin compared to my old unit, which initially made me worry about noise levels. However, that concern turned out to be completely unfounded™€"it runs remarkably quiet, and you hardly notice it is on. Another great upgrade is the redesign of the silverware basket for spoons, knives, and forks, which is now positioned conveniently along the side. On the downside, the cycle times are exceptionally long. A full wash and dry cycle takes around three hours, whereas my previous Nautilus dishwasher completed both in under an hour. Additionally, the interior rack design is not as ergonomic as I had hoped. The tray spacing doesn't fit my standard Corelle dishes well, making loading a bit of a hassle. Overall, I am very unhappy with this appliance, and GE needs to make significant improvements to both the cycle speeds and rack ergonomics before I could ever recommend it.

Just moved into our new house and have used the dishwasher serval times already. It™€™s pretty quiet which is fantastic and it cleans very well. Very easy to operate as well. It would be great if the silverware basket could go on either side of the main wash bin but this one can only be on one side which is opposite from the side I stand on in front of the sink. Otherwise it runs smoothly and the extra top basket is fantastic!

If you want a dishwasher that never works this is the one for you. Bought this back in April its now August, the dishwasher has worked for maybe a month of this time, died three days after i bought it, i even got GE to swap the unit with another one after a month of not working and parts being backordered. The new unit did the same thing after a week, waited another month for techs and parts, got it fixed™€¦..week later dead again, now waiting again for parts because GE is insisting to keep throwing parts at it. I been trying to get them to refunded me my money and take there junk back, but they refuse and just keep making us wait for techs and parts for weeks on end, the tech they sent out said the dishwasher is not worth fixing he has done everything he can and they have spend more money just paying him to come out then the dishwasher is worth. so thats how bad GE is, they just keep insisting that they wont do anything until they decide the dishwasher is dead™€¦.and not worth fixing, they dont care at all that i have a brand new dishwasher that never works, i think there just waiting for the year warranty to be up. So if you want a dishwasher you can never use, with terrible customer service™€¦™€¦™€¦buy this one it deserves 0 stars

Cleans great. Buttons are both too sensitive and not sensitive enough sometimes. When loading the dishwasher it is easy to accidently touch buttons changing settings but takes multiple tries to get the dishwasher to start. Makes very annoying sound when you open it just to put something in that you forgot.

The dishwasher cleaned nicely. We didn™€™t have any problems until year 3. We cannot get the dishwasher to do a cleaning cycle. When we open the door it beeps like normal and the ™€œbuttons™€ on the control panel light up. If you try to tap ™€œselect™€ to change the cycle type or ™€œstart™€ it doesn™€™t do anything. It™€™s as if the touch mechanism on the control panel is not working. All of my research leads to a faulty control panel. I shouldn™€™t have to be fixing my 3 year old dishwasher.

Upon the purchase of this product we were told that a plumber be sent out to installat but that did not happen, and delivery guy said that he didn't know why were told that. The dishwasher is very quiet. The reason for only three stars is because the dishwasher is not getting all the dishes clean.

Fragile inlet water solanoid valve

Although it's a really nice and quiet dishwasher I've already had an issue within the first few months of owning it (inlet water solanoid valve cracked). Unfortunately, this part itself is made out of plastic instead of a sturdier material and cracked. Pretty frustrating!

Great dishwasher and reasonable price

This dishwasher works great! Dishes always come out clean and mostly dry. Some plastic items are wet, but I expected that. There are several wash cycles available for all cleaning needs. The cycles are LONG so I just run it overnight or when I™€™m not home.

Fairly nice dishwasher but not my cup of tea

On the plus side, this dishwasher was very quiet and it is attractive. However, I did not like that the silverware holder was on the far side from my sink and could not be placed any where else. I also did not like that when you reach down to close the door your hand touches the buttons making it ding and then you had to reset it. Since it takes me 10 days to fill up a dishwasher before I can run it, I did not like that there was standing water in the bottom all that time. Great opportunity for bacteria growth and stinky odors. Back to the good news, the Third skinny top tray was nice for large utensils and miscellaneous small items . The dishwasher seemed to clean the dishes well.

I am writing this to warn other consumers about a severe safety hazard with this unit. The original plastic lower spray arm on my dishwasher suffered a total thermal failure, melting at the tips and altering the water direction, which led to a major leak that damaged my kitchen flooring. To resolve the issue safely, I purchased the official, newly redesigned GE factory replacement part (#WD22X33499). GE™€™s official documentation explicitly claims that this updated design is highly heat-resistant and no longer requires the original metal heat shields. Alarmingly, on its very first test cycle, the brand-new replacement part suffered a complete catastrophic meltdown. The machine stalled mid-cycle, and the engineering plastic dropped directly onto the live 120V heating element, physically fusing to the metal rod, liquefying, and charring a massive hole through the plastic. This is not a routine wear-and-tear issue; the machine is experiencing a dangerous, unregulated electrical thermal runaway defect that presents an active residential fire hazard. I have been forced to permanently shut off power to the appliance at the circuit breaker. I have filed an official report with the Federal Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC Report #20260530-211D5-2147318337) and escalated this directly to GE Corporate Risk Management. Super quiet, convenient delay feature.

This dishwasher is so quiet! We have an open floorplan and I was really concerned about noise, this one you can barely hear when it's running! Also, the delay feature is quite nice and we use that a lot. The three racks are quite convenient and all our dishes come out sparkling clean.
